We have a fantastic opportunity for a Claims Manager – Operational to join our talented Claims team in Salford Quays, Manchester.

You’ll provide first-rate management of the Third Party Claims department, implementing the demands of the business plan and ensuring adherence to budget. 

Demonstrating excellent leadership to enable high performance working throughout the department, you’ll implement operational, tactical and strategic plans.
 
Job responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing evidence and commentary for controls, updates for mitigation actions and maintaining control matrices and attestations
  • Provide excellent leadership to all direct reports and the team
  • Provide operational expertise in the area of third party claims
  • Implement strategies to improve the efficiency of third party claims
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the functions and team
  • Assist with the preparation of timely budgets and re-forecasts
  • Process and authorise cheques on claims files
  • Provide detailed analysis of claims results relating to third party claims
  • Champion proactive management of claims handling approaches to drive positive claims results
  • Adhere to the company values at all times together with all regulatory requirements including Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), the Data Protection Act, anti-money laundering and anti-bribery principles
 
Skills, knowledge & experience
  • CII qualification or evidence of working towards this
  • Experience within motor claims, including legislation and legal processes of third party claims handling at a second-line manager level
  • Experience of managing budgets and resource forecasting
  • Previous involvement in operational activities including employee engagement, requirements gathering, solution review, process improvement authoring and training
  • An understanding of reserving and cost management
  • A knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • People management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees in a high pressured environment
  • An organised and proactive approach with flexibility and positive attitude
