We’re on the hunt for a talented Senior HR Advisor to join our Human Resources team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will need to provide expert HR advice, ensuring compliance and delivery of guidance to line managers on HR policies and employment matters.

You’ll support the implementation of HR strategies and initiatives and participate in and coordinate the roll-out of HR projects across the business. At times you’ll be required to act as deputy for the HR Business Partner and provide guidance and support to the HR advisors as appropriate.

 
Job responsibilities
 
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on all people management matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, attendance management etc
  • Develop robust relationships with managers in order to influence and support them in delivering their business objectives
  • Attend the more complex and challenging disciplinary/grievance hearings as the HR representative, providing appropriate advice to line managers and ensuring a fair process
  • Produce ad-hoc reports as required and conduct analysis to identify trends and areas of improvement and raise these with the HR Business Partner to ensure escalation when appropriate
  • Support and advise managers and employees in delivering change, facilitating effective consultation and advising on the legal and HR aspects of change proposals
  • Meet with department managers on a regular basis to present analysis of HR trends within their departments and work with these managers to identify improvements
  • Coach line managers and employees in HR policies and practices and provide expert advice in the application of HR policy and people management practices, ensuring procedures are followed and risks minimised
  • Advise line managers on requests to vary contractual terms, ensuring that correct policy is applied, and complex issues are resolved in liaison with the HR Business Partner
  • Assist in gathering feedback from employees through various communication methods such as upward appraisals, employee surveys, team briefs and suggestion schemes
  • Deputise for the HR Business Partner in the management of the HR advisors to ensure timescales and priorities are met
 
Skills, knowledge & experience
 
  • CIPD qualification is essential
  • Strong experience of working in a similar role, ideally in the Financial Services industry
  • Solid experience of coordinating projects
  • Experience of conducting MI analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to adopt a logical approach
  • Customer orientation skills
  • Commercially focused
  • A confidential and professional approach is essential with the ability to demonstrate integrity and respect
