If so, First Central is offering an exciting 12-month Undergraduate Finance Placement where you’ll gain exposure to key finance functions, including statutory reporting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), business partnering, and operations.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – you'll interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making - its in your bag!
Microsoft Excel Proficiency – you're a whizz, after-all its essential for financial modelling, data manipulation, and reporting.

What's involved:
- Gain hands on experience with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Support the collation, documentation, maintenance and validation of financial data for statutory reporting purposes
- Facilitate the budgeting and forecasting process, including data entry and analysis
- Develop skills in using financial modelling techniques and tools (e.g., Excel)
- Assist in the preparation of management reports, providing insights into business performance
- Gain knowledge of the business drivers and key performance indicators (KPIs) of different business pillars
- Participate in meetings with business partners, gaining exposure to commercial discussions
- Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the finance team, including processing invoices and payments.
- Develop an understanding of internal controls and risk management within a finance function
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment
- Actively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills
What we’re looking for:
Qualifications, experience, skills & knowledge:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, with a minimum 2:1 projected grade.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data manipulation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and business concepts.
Interest in the insurance industry and financial markets.
Awareness of the role of finance within a business organisation.
Previous exposure to financial concepts, software, or data entry (Desirable).
Prior experience in a business or office environment (Desirable).
Participation in extracurricular activities or projects demonstrating teamwork and analytical skills (Desirable).
