We’re searching for our next Senior Internal Communications and Engagement Executive to work within our People pillar - you’ll build strong relationships with colleagues throughout the business and help make our colleague experience one to enjoy and celebrate!

You’ll be responsible for driving the delivery of the overarching internal communications, engagement and culture strategies for the People pillar and supporting the Internal Comms and Engagement Business Partner with comms activity for other areas of First Central. You’ll also manage campaigns, events and initiatives end-to-end, having a direct impact of eNPS, product advocacy and retention…just to name a few. CSR is also a key focus for this role, which is super rewarding when you can see what a difference you’ll also be making in the community. Travel and supporting the delivery of in person events is a key part of this role.

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • Skills and/or experience with copywriting
  • Great stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • A passion for Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility

What’s involved:

  • You’ll manage and implement the local internal communications and engagement plans in line with the Group’s overarching strategy.
  • You’ll work with the wider Internal Communications and Engagement team to curate and develop communications for a variety of campaigns and milestones.
  • You’ll need to write, edit and proof copy across all channels, ensuring that it’s appropriate for the channel and in line with our brand and tone of voice.
  • You’ll have a flair for Corporate Social Responsibility, to work with our community partnerships and be bursting with great ideas for fundraising and volunteering activities. 
  • You’ll host in-person, virtual and hybrid events to support engagement, launches, celebrations, social activities and strategic plans.
  • You’ll deploy creative thinking and utilise design understanding to create concepts that align with our brands.
  • You’ll advocate our brand as an ambassador that works with the guidelines and champions the values of our business.
  • You’ll build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, working groups and committees to help drive engagement, influencing and educating colleagues on our brand, values and strategy.
  • You’ll adapt and evolve processes that reflect the culture, protect the company in terms of insurance/health and safety/PR and report back on all ROI.
  • You’ll work with business and industry data to inform plans and strategies.
  • You’ll work closely with IC/C&E Business Partner to support the operational communications activities for their partnered areas and deputise for them as appropriate.
  • You’ll track success of all activity by documenting results, reviewing data, evaluating effectiveness and engagement, and highlighting opportunities to increase impact.
  • You’ll manage local budgets.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

Skills & qualifications 

  • You’ll have excellent creative written and spoken skills and feel confident writing for a variety of audiences
  • You’ll have first-class drafting, proof-reading and editing skills, and be able to write and produce compelling and engaging content under pressure and at short notice, while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • You’ll be highly organised and proactive - able to juggle and prioritise a busy workload
  • You’re professional and calm under pressure
  • You’ve got great administration skills
  • You’ve strong attention to detail
  • You’ll have solid experience of co-ordinating multi-channel comms and engagement plans
  • You’ve strong analytical skills
  • You’re a creative thinker and problem solver

Experience & knowledge

  • You’ve got strong knowledge and a solid background in an internal communications role and engagement (in a Financial Services setting would be great, but not a must.)
  • You ideally have a good understanding of Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of Sharepoint.
