We’re on the hunt for a talented Infrastructure Lead to join our Technology team in Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or our offices in Guernsey. Supporting the delivery of the technology business plan and ensuring your team achieve their SLAs, you’ll be responsible for the day to day BAU, ensuring the IT Service is operational, reliable, scalable, and secure across all Group applications, including Group Technology Services, Development, Test and Production infrastructure. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have: Understanding of Windows Domains and Windows Server technologies Experience of Azure Cloud and Data Centres infrastructure Demonstratable network and firewall knowledge together with Info Sec and IT security/Cyber controls Job responsibilities Provide leadership to the infrastructure team, including monitoring of internal KPIs and SLAs Ensure team provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, load balancing, Operating System, system security, network security, directory services, server virtualisation using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring via SNMP Undertake standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis etc Manage out of hours upgrades/implementations and testing in conjunction with Business Change, Technology and other stakeholders Ensure vulnerabilities, pen test and audit findings are managed and resolved Identify and feedback any potential improvements to the Technology systems services Manage the team including, providing coaching and support, supporting performance review with the infrastructure manager, 1:1s, objective setting etc, developing a team culture and resolving any issues Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment and configuration(s) Participate in the creation, maintenance, testing and execution of the Disaster Recovery plan Create, request and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment via quote procedure Skills, knowledge & experience Established experience in comparable roles Extensive knowledge of and experience in the private lines insurance business, the aggregator marketplace and the core business functions of a general insurance provider Excellent understanding and experience of Infrastructure Administration, including Windows, web, database servers, Office 365 and Azure and its technical underpinnings Demonstrable experience of application support and support processes Strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to document complex issues and processes in a way that can be understood by a wide audience Excellent understanding of technology and technical architectures and IIS and SQL Server Knowledge of service delivery frameworks, in particular ITIL Knowledge of service level and operational level agreements Leadership ability to engage employees in a high-pressurised environment What can we do for you?
