We’re seeking a Business Analyst to join our Technology & Data pillar on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

In this role you’ll provide analytical techniques to support the organisation in identifying and defining target states and outcomes, supporting the pillar(s) throughout the execution and realisation of business-change required to meet those states.

We're big on working flexibly - you'll spend most of your time working from home, with the occasional visit to the office, but of course, it’s your choice - if you prefer to be in the office more - that's good with us too.  We've offices located in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, Salford Quays, Manchester, and Guernsey it’s your choice - or maybe you live further afield, we’re happy to accept applications for remote workers! Join us in driving positive transformation to make a lasting impact at First Central!

What’s involved:

  • You’ll collaborate with stakeholders involved in strategy formulation and definition of target states.
  • You’ll review current and target business-states, applying business modelling and analytical techniques (e.g. process mapping, SWOT analysis, options analysis, statistical and database analysis) in order to identify and prioritise gaps.
  • You’ll provide analytical expertise to support Stakeholders/SME in the definition, documentation and prioritisation of Business Outcomes and themes and their associated benefits.
  • You’ll provide critical analysis of business outcomes through a variety of techniques, validating and collaborating across teams to refine them into Epics, ready for delivery.
  • You’ll support the Head-of-Portfolio in the creation and management of the Portfolio Roadmap
  • You’ll help resolve competing in-pillar priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating stakeholder discussions and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • You’ll instigate, prepare, facilitate and lead meetings, workshops and presentations for a wide range of audiences, demonstrating consistently high qualities of communication and strong powers of influence.
  • You’ll develop close working relationships with Subject Matter Experts, Heads of Department, Project/Programme Managers and Sponsors to drive decisions.
  • You’ll document current processes and models to understand inefficiencies or gaps.
  • You’ll define to-be business processes, supporting change delivery (Project Management, L&D, Legal, Data & Technology, etc)
  • You’ll identify and assist in prioritising opportunities to streamline business processes.
  • You’ll support the roll-out of change within the business pillar(s).
  • You’ll contribute to the setting of standards and processes for the Business Analysis Community of Practice and ensure these are adhered to and best practice is followed to support a fully agile change and development environment.
  • You’ll comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times.
  • You’ll ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.

Experience & knowledge

  • Ability to quickly understand the objectives, structures, operations and policies of a business area.
  • Strong problem resolution, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrable understanding of a range of Business Analysis and Change Management tools and techniques.
  • Experience in the analysis of business models, capabilities, value streams, business processes, and organisational structures.
  • Knowledge of business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of initiatives.
  • Strong anticipatory, statistical and information analysis skills.
  • Proven experience of applying business analysis within an iterative and Agile change framework.
  • Ideally an insurance or financial Services background, although other backgrounds will be considered.
  • Experienced in facilitating change within a business unit, to include defining/re-engineering existing and new processes as well as the development of new services and products.
  • Knowledge of a structured yet agile approach to delivering analysis and change.
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including TCF).

Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Analysis.
  • Business Analysis and/or Business Architecture certification/formal qualification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong workshop and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Experienced at building relationships with and managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in selecting and executing elicitation techniques such as Interviews, Exploratory Prototypes, Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Wireframing, Documentation study, Surveys and Process Re-engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
