Are you passionate about making a real impact in Risk and Compliance? We’re on the lookout for a Risk & Compliance Reporting Manager to lead and shape our reporting and framework documentation across First Central Group Ltd (FCG), First Central Insurance Management Ltd (FCIM), and First Central Underwriting Ltd (1CU). In this key role, you’ll be driving advisory, monitoring, and business partnering activities, while reporting directly to the 1CU Head of Risk & Compliance. You’ll also work closely with our Risk & Compliance Director, Group Head of Risk, Group Head of Compliance, and Data Protection Officer.

Taking the lead in coordinating and supporting the production of Risk & Compliance reports for key boards, committees, and management forums, you'll ensure all report templates are rigorously maintained and liaise with senior stakeholders to finalise reports and key messages. Acting as the central point of contact for governance documents, you'll also support regulatory returns and manage department risk registers. Additionally, you'll coordinate attendance at governance meetings, deputise for the Risk & Compliance Director, and assist the 1CU Company Secretary as needed, ensuring smooth and effective oversight across the business.

Working flexibly, you'll mix working from home and being in the office (living a commutable distance from our Gibraltar office is ideal for this role!, we're also open to candidates who live close to Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex).  But of course, it’s your choice - if you prefer to be in the office more - that's good with us too.

  • Knowledge of FCA and GFSC requirements (including individual responsibilities in relation to Consumer Duty) - tick!
  • Substantial understanding of regulatory rules, regulations, principles and codes of practice and of the wider regulatory and legislative framework affecting the financial services sector - they're in your toolkit!

What's involved:

  • To coordinate and support the production of Risk & Compliance reports for Boards, Audit committees, Conduct Risk Committee and management forums, including 1CU and FCIM ManCos, ExCo, and Pillar Governance Meetings.
  • To define, maintain and ensure rigorous version control of all such report templates.
  • To liaise with the Risk & Compliance Director, Chief Governance Officer and the Executive with regard to the drafting, socialisation and finalisation of Risk & Compliance reports, including agreeing key items of commentary and messages with stakeholders
  • To support and coordinate the completion of all relevant regulatory returns
  • To act as the central point and coordinator for all internal Risk & Compliance governance documents, procedure manuals and handbooks, in particular the Risk & Compliance Governance Manual
  • To act as the first point of contact for the Executive, Company Secretarial and FCIM and 1CU ManCo regarding Risk and Compliance reporting
  • To coordinate the attendance of Risk & Compliance colleagues at Pillar Governance Meetings, and deputise for the Risk & Compliance Director in these
  • To liaise with Internal Audit, and Risk & Compliance Assurance teams with regard to the effective oversight of action progression
  • To assist 1CU Company Secretary in all his / her duties and deputize as needed
  • Responsibility for maintaining department risk registers (as applicable), providing evidence and commentary for controls, updates for Mitigation Actions and maintaining control matrices and attestations.
  • Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times
  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times, embedding the delivery of good customer outcomes and the company values.

Experience, knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of FCA and GFSC requirements (including individual responsibilities in relation to Consumer Duty)
  • Substantial understanding of regulatory rules, regulations, principles and codes of practice and of the wider regulatory and legislative framework affecting the financial services sector
  • Material understanding of motor insurance products, premium finance and the motor insurance industry
  • Recognised compliance, risk, audit or legal qualification preferable
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Analytical thinker with clear ability to distil into key points
  • Excellent influencing skills, and credible at a senior level
  • Ability to question and obtain information from others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving, with the ability to translate issues and find resolutions
  • Excellent organisation, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Competent use of IT and software (i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
